Election Management
In Illinois, elections for each jurisdiction are administered by the election authority. Illinois has 110 election authorities - 101 county clerks, eight municipal boards of election commissioners, and one county board of elections (DuPage).

The 2010 Election and Campaign Finance Calendar (Amended 7/13/09) sets forth the important dates concerning the election process. It includes listings of the offices to be nominated and/or elected at each election and details the relevant dates regarding the petition process for candidates and referenda as well as those concerning the filing of reports on campaign contributions and expenditures under the Campaign Disclosure Act.

The 2010 Candidate’s Guide (Amended 7/20/09) provides information for candidates seeking office at the federal, state or county level relating to such matters as the candidate petition process, nominating procedures and the objection process.
